If you are a wine of the month club member it is likely that you have a strong appreciation for fine wine and
for the charming flavors induced when matching wines with different cuisines. Many fine wines go well with Italian
cuisine as Italy is a country with a highly prevalent wine culture.
Bubbly wine goes well with Italian appetizers including antipasto and Italian breads. Sparkling wine
is a good wine starter in general as it readies the palette for the stronger, heavier flavors to come in
the meal and for the wines that will suit the main courses of the meal. Prosecco is a wine type suggested
by wine experts as a good choice of wine to drink with Italian starters. Tuscan dry wines are good choices
for pastas with cream sauces since the strong acidity can counter the thickness of the cream.
Montepulcianos are red wines suggested by experts to go well with veal parmesan and spaghetti Bolognese
and sweet pink sparkling wines are known to go well with chocolaty Italian deserts such as zabaglione, cannolis,
cassata alla siciliana, torta barozzi, and just plain chocolate.
